Flashing the PCB to VIA
If your PCB does not support VIA, you can install the supported firmware yourself if you have a Windows or Mac PC.
Step 1
Please note the system requirements.
Step 2
Install QMK Toolbox to your PC.
Step 3
After you have installed QMK Toolbox, ensure the QMK drivers have also been installed.
- Right click the QMK Toolbox app icon and and then right click on the qmk_toolbox and select Run as Administrator
- Select Install Drivers
Step 4
Download the VIA firmware for the Let’s Tango
If you do not have access, please try to download from the Mtn Kbd Discord.
Step 5
You can flash pcb as long have access to access the bottom of your pcb.
Step 6
- Ensure QMK Toolbox is running and plug in one of the PCBs with a USB-C cable to your PC that has QMK Toolbox running.
- In QMK Toolbox, select the Local file as the VIA firmware you previously downloaded. It will be in hex format and named something similar to “vitamins_included_rev2_via.hex”
- Ensure that “ATmega32U4” is selected as the MCU
Step 7
On the bottom of the PCB locate and press the reset button. This will put the PCB into boot-loader mode.
QMK Toolbox should then display in yellow, “Atmel DFU device connected”
If it displays the above you are ready to flash the PCB. If it does not, please check the previous steps.
Step 8
Click the “Flash” button
It will then take a few seconds and your PCB should now be flashed. You can now unplug the PCB and repeat from Step 5 for the other PCB. You must flash both PCBs to use VIA and its functionality.
Step 9
Once both PCBs have been flashed, you can now go to the VIA website and configure your preferences.
Click the Authorize device button and select the "Vitamins included" keyboard.
VIA only works on browsers that support WebHID API.
